स्वच्छ भारत ग्रामीण और लोहिया स्वच्छ भारत के दूसरे चरण में ओडीएफ प्लस अभियान के तहत जिले के गोपालगंज प्रखंड के बसडीला गांव में जिले की पहली अपशिष्ट प्रसंस्करण इकाई स्थापित की गई है। आयोजित समारोह में विधिवत् रूप से इसका शुभारंभ किया गया। डीएम डॉ. नवल किशोर चौधरी व डीडीसी अभिषेक रंजन ने प्रोसेसिंग यूनिट का उद्घाटन किया। बताया गया कि इस यूनिट में घर-घर से आ रे कचरे की छंटनी की जाएगी।

जिसमें सूखा व गीला कचरा को अलग-अलग किया जाएगा। इसके बाद गीला कचरा से खाद बनायी जाएगी। यह खाद किसान अपने खेतों में फसलों के अच्छे उत्पादन के लिए उपयोग कर सकेंगे। उल्लेखनीय है कि ओडीएफ प्लस अभियान के तहत जिले के 14 प्रखंडों की 52 पंचायतों में कचरा प्रबंधन का कार्य शुरू करने का लक्ष्य है। अधिकांश पंचायतों में कार्य शुरू है और डोर-टू-डोर कचरे का उठाव हो रहा है। अब बसडीला गांव में पहली अपशिष्ट प्रसंस्करण इकाई का संचालन शुरू होने से घर-घर से निकले कचरे का उचित प्रबंधन हो सकेगा।
